About company

Incorporated in1987, Paras Healthcare Limited is a leading clinical specialty-led hospital platform providing tertiary and quaternary healthcare services across North India, Bihar, and Jharkhand under the "Paras Health" brand. The company operates eight hospitals with an aggregate bed capacity of 2,211 beds across Gurugram, Panchkula, Patna, Darbhanga, Kanpur, Udaipur, Ranchi, and Srinagar as of June 30, 2026.

It specializes in cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, gastro sciences, orthopedics & sports injury, and renal sciences (CONGOR specialties), which contributed 75.30% of revenue in Fiscal 2026.

Paras Healthcare has over 20 years of operating history and follows a balanced growth strategy through mature, emerging, and new hospitals. The company plans to expand its network with a 300-bed hospital in Gurugram and a 500-bed hospital in Ludhiana, increasing total capacity to 3,011 beds by March 2028.

Strengths and Risks

Strengths

Paras Health has built a strong regional footprint spanning multiple states (including Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir). By targeting tier-2 and tier-3 cities where corporate healthcare infrastructure is scarce, the company benefits from a first-mover advantage and strong local brand loyalty.

The hospital network derives a major chunk of its operational revenues (~74%) from six core clinical specialties: cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, gastro-sciences, orthopedics, and renal sciences. This provides a stable, multi-specialty clinical ecosystem for patients.

The company reported a positive financial turnaround, posting a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of ?43.83 crore for the full year, supported by an expanding bed occupancy rate touching roughly 61.75%. Operating cash flows have remained positive, backed by a growing operational revenue base.

Risks

Despite turning a profit recently, Paras Healthcare has faced historical net losses in prior fiscal years. The company carries a considerable debt load on its balance sheet, making disciplined execution vital to service and pay down remaining liabilities post-IPO.

Retaining specialized medical talent (doctors, surgeons, and nursing staff) is critical in the healthcare sector. High attrition rates among clinical and support personnel pose a continuous risk to maintaining service quality and patient retention.

A significant majority of revenue is generated from North and East India, making the business vulnerable to regional disruptions or local regulatory changes. Additionally, a sizable shift toward government health schemes and public-sector undertakings affects realization rates compared to cash or high-end private insurance patients.
